Yup. That's 50% discount on the ala carte dishes! So see y'all there this weekend!
Whenever I pass by Beaufort Restaurant, I would always see it FILLED with customers every single time.

But I've been told before that the food served there are quite expensive. So that explained why WC and I never got around to dining there before.

Nevertheless, I was always curious as to how 'expensive' the food there might be, and lucky for me, this week, my question was answered, as we had another family dinner there.

Beaufort Restaurant

Beaufort Restaurant is located right near to the Lido traffic light (that leads into KK High School). You can't miss it; it's visible from the main Penampang Road. It's a corner lot with a big signboard that says Restaurant Beaufort on it!

There were 6 of us that night, and we were lucky that we arrived at the 'right' time (we arrived around 7.40pm); the other tables were taken by other customers very quickly! Full house again! Wow!

Okay, food pics!

Ginger Fish

Veggie with Pork
The restaurant's signature dish, the Veggie with Pork! I just LOVE this dish!

Chicken with Ginger Sauce
Steamed Chicken with Ginger

Pai Kut Wong
Pai Kut Wong (pork ribs)

Fish Head Ham Choy Soup

Sabah Veggie with Egg
Sayur Manis (Sabah veggie) cooked with eggs

I didn't put any explanation to all these Chinese dishes, as I only got one word to describe it: DELICIOUS! They all tasted like how they're supposed to taste; not too salty nor bland. Just delicious!

And all these dishes (plus 8 bowls of rice, a few glasses of Chinese Teas and warm water) cost us RM94. I think it's pretty reasonable considering there were 6 dishes for 6 pax, right?

If you haven't tried this place yet, then you don't know what you're missing! Seriously!
After reading this post, on your next visit to CUBE, you can give a code to the waitresses/manager there and you will get a FREE PRIVILEGE CARD just by reading this post!

The code is.. JACQ! That's J-A-C-Q! Simple enough to remember, right?

Don't forget to mention this to them, ya! You don't have to spend RM30 to get it! It's FREE! Go and get one now!! 100 cards are reserved just for you!

The people over at CUBE Restaurant & Wine Lounge contacted me last week, and asked whether I would be interested in doing a food review at their restaurant.

Interested? Are you kidding me?? I told them I would love to do it and have it featured here on my blog!

And so I brought WC and Impedius along for the food review on Tuesday night.

CUBE is located at City Mall on the ground Floor (beside Vedablu) and has been opened for almost a year now; in fact, November is its first year anniversary! Happy Birthday CUBE!

Back Entrance Of CUBE
A lot of people think this is the front entrance, but it's not. It's actually the back entrance!

Front Entrance Of CUBE
This is the actual front entrance! And now you know!

The seating areas of CUBE is divided into 3 sections:

Section 1: The private seating area (the place was actually quite big, with a few tables inside, but there were some people dining there, so I just took a corner shot of the area cuz I didn't wanna disturb their privacy)

Section 2: the open spaced air-conditioned area (love the decor BTW!)

And Section 3, the open-aired area (which can be seen on the front entrance photo above)

Adam, the F&B Manager, described us in great detail of the restaurant as well as each food in the menu. It was certainly very entertaining! He was also very attentive to what we need throughout the night. Makes you feel so welcomed there! I like!

And they had already prepared what we should eat that night:

Unforgettable Taste
The Unforgettable Taste (Steamed Village [kampung] Chicken), priced at RM20++. FYI, this dish is good for 2 pax.

Secret Sauce Fillet
The Secret Sauce Fillet, priced at RM36++ (I LOVE this! Yummy!)

Prosperity Dish
The veggie dish called Prosperity, priced at RM15++

Braised Pork Belly
And CUBE's signature dish, the Braised Pork Belly, priced at RM20++. This dish is also good for 2 pax. It's a lot of pork! Seriously!

This dish is served with a bowl of rice, and as well as this:

Man Tou
Man Tou, or Chinese steamed bun.

And our dessert, the Sweetie Sesame Ball, priced at RM6++. It had some sort of egg custard inside! Yum yum!

As the name of the restaurant suggests, this restaurant is also a wine lounge..

which serves mid range to expensive types of wines.

Pouring Of Wine

We got to try their red wine (Hardys Collection, priced at RM40++ during Happy Hour [3-9pm], usual price RM59++) as well as the white wine (Jacob's Creek, priced at RM69++). I I know I'm no expert in wines, but I just know that both are quite good, so I'll definitely be back for their Happy Hour Promotion!

We dined at CUBE the next night again, and tried their other dishes, like the CUBE Melon soup (which I love! So many portions, and very delicious!), the Unforgettable Taste (steamed chicken) again, and the Oxtail with Sacha Sauce. I'll surely be back again one of these days to try their other dishes! You can count on it!

Okay, now with the promotion!
  • The Happy Hour Promotion. House wines are served at 3-9pm daily, and priced at RM40++!
  • Their Set Lunch, which is either Baked Cheese Fish Fillet Rice, Curry Chicken Rice, or Cube Noodles, plus dessert (fruits) and drinks (Vietnamese Coffee or English Tea) priced at only RM14.99++!
  • Dishes of the month: the Unforgettable Taste (the steamed chicken mentioned above), the Scrumptious (Sesame Chicken with Thai Salad Sauce) priced at RM25++, and the Simply Delicious (Salt & Pepper Chicken) priced RM14++!
So if you haven't tried out CUBE, why not give it a try today and try their dishes of the month? And FYI, CUBE is also available for catering and private functions, too!

My family members made plans to go eat at 1Borneo a couple of nights ago, and for once, I didn't interfere with their chosen restaurant.

They have decided to go eat Bak Kut Teh inside 1Borneo itself!

Siaw Er Bah Kut Teh
And it is called Siaw Er Bak Kut Teh, located on the Concourse Floor, which is the basement of the 1Borneo

Siaw Er Bah Kut Teh
The entrance

Wall Decors inside Siaw Er

Tie Guan Ying (or Chinese Tea) which costs RM4 for 3 pax

Siaw Er Bah Kut Teh
Clay Pot Bak Kut Teh, RM11.90

Even though it's a bit pricier as compared to other Bak Kut Teh outlets, you must remember that this is at 1Borneo, where the outlet is air-conditioned. Furthermore, the portion given inside was a lot!

The soup base tasted sweet though, which took me a while to get used to.. and I didn't get to finish it (the soup in my bowl, that is) like how I used to whenever I'm at bak kut teh places. Oh well..

Siaw Er Bah Kut Teh
Pork Liver Ginger Liquor, RM8.90

I do love this Pork Liver's soup base, though! The portion given was a lot as well, and since I like pork liver so much, I think I will just order this to go with my rice the next time I am here! And speaking of rice, it's RM1.50 per bowl.

So to sum it up, if I'm in 1Borneo again, I really would not mind eating here again.

How about you? Have you tried this eatery yet?
Today, I was one of the lucky people who got to try out the new Set Lunch Menu at The Roof Restaurant, located at Imperial International Hotel in Warisan Square!

There are 3 new set lunches, which are Set A (RM15), Set B (RM20), and Set C (RM25). And this afternoon, we were treated to the very nice lunch from the Set C menu:

Firstly we had the Clear Chicken Soup with Cube Vegetable (no photo of this.. sorry!)

Secondly, we had rice served with these dishes:
Ayam Panggang Percik Bersantan

Daging Masak Merah

And for dessert, we had these:

And now my verdict..

I thought that the food were delicious and reasonably priced. The food were served in good portions, too! And I loved the Ayam Percik the most! And the Beef! Yummm!

So the new lunch menu gets a thumbs up from me! You guys should try it too, and let me know what you think of it!
